How To Farm Eidolon Shards?
Eidolon Shards are farmed by heading into the Plains of Eidolon at night to search and defeat world bosses. You will always start out with having to defeat/capture the Teralyst, which will allow you to either continue to face the Gantulyst (if you have captured the Teralyst and received a Brilliant Eidolon Shard) if you sacrifice a Brilliante Eidolon Shard to the Eidolon Shrine.
After the Gantulyst has been taken out, you will be able to face the Hydrolyst after summoning it (providing you have captured the Gantulyst and received a Radiant Eidolon Shard) at the Eidolon Shrine with a Radiant Eidolon Shard.
Repeating the process of defeating all bosses (preferably capturing them all) is how Eidolon Shards are farmed and the faster you can complete the process, the more you can farm in a small amount of time. Doing two runs is usually a good farming session but sometimes requires very powerful builds or a squad.
Where To Farm Eidolon Shards?
The only place to farm Eidolon Shards is in the Plains Of Eidolon as this is where the world bosses may be fought. The Teralyst is usually spotted wandering around the Plains Of Eidolon during night. The Gantulyst and Hydrolyst come in order and must be summoned at the Eidolon Shrine which is located in the middle of Gara Toht Lake.
You will need to have picked up the Eidolon shards that have been dropped by a Teralyst in order to place them into the shrine to summon the next boss.
Types Of Eidolon Shards
Eidolon Shard
This is the standard Eidolon Shard and the first one which you will encounter in the game since it drops from the first boss, the Teralyst. This Eidolon Shard is also a requirement for crafting the Paracesis melee weapon and for being exchanged for focus. It can be obtained by killing or capturing the different variants of the world boss in the Plains Of Eidolon.
The following are the amounts Eidolon Shard that are dropped per enemy boss in the Plains Of Eidolon whether captured or killed:
- Teralyst – 1x
- Gantulyst – 3x
- Hydroyst – 5x
Brilliant Eidolon Shard
The Brilliant Eidolon shard is a rarer and more valuable Eidolon Shard which is mainly used in the unbinding of way-bound nodes of your operator. Using focus, you can unlock nodes and upgrade them but with the help of these Brilliant Eidolon Shards, you can cause the way-bound nodes (nodes that can be shared between different schools) to allow other schools to use the unbound node.
The Brilliant Eidolon Shard may be exchanged for 25,000 focus. Brilliant Eidolon Shards are required to summon the Eidolon Gantulyst at the Eidolon Shrine.
Upon the capture of specific world bosses with Eidolon Lures, these will be the following rewards:
- Eidolon Teralyst – rewards you with 1x Brilliant Eidolon Shard
- Eidolon Gantulyst – rewards you with 1x Brilliant Eidolon Shard
- Eidolon Hydrolyst – rewards you with 2x Brilliant Eidolon Shard
Radiant Eidolon Shard
Radiant Eidolon Shards are the most valuable of the shards that you can obtain in Warframe and can only be acquired by defeating the stronger variants of the world boss. These are exchanged for 40,000 focus and are farmed in order to quickly provide this to players. Radiant Eidolon Shards are required to summon the Eidolon Hydrolyst at the Eidolon Shrine.
- Eidolon Gantulyst – rewards you with 1x Radiant Eidolon Shard
- Eidolon Hydrolyst – rewards you with 2x Radiant Eidolon Shard
Synthetic Eidolon Shard
Synthetic Eidolon Shards are more of a bonus and do not have a direct connection to the Teralyst, Gantulyst or Hydrolyst. These are seen as cheap variants of the original Eidolon Shards and only serve to be converted into 5,000 focus for operator school upgrading.
This can be obtained as a reward while doing the Sanctuary Onslaught mission and has a chance to drop as a reward from rotation B.

Eidolon Shards are essential in the late game as you progress in Warframe since they are mainly used by players to upgrade their operators via the provision of focus. Eidolon shard farming is done by attempting to defeat all 3 of the world bosses in the Plains of Eidolon as soon as possible and repeating the process.
